And I thought writing the book was hard!

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

At last my book is to be published. Water and Blood will be available from 22nd March.

How hard can it be? I thought when deciding to self-publish. My admiration for others who have trodden this route grew as I learnt what it involved.

The cover has had many iterations. This last is my own design using GIMP so I’m totally responsible. Here is the full paperback cover, without ISBN barcode, let me know what you think:

It took a while, and many online tutorials, to get to grips with the software, so my thanks go to the You-tube channels of Chris' Tutorials ( @ChrisTutorialsYT ) and Satori Graphics (@SatoriGraphics ) for their professional and informative videos.

After the cover there is then the uploading of files. With this comes the discovery of the one- and two-line pages at the ends of chapters. So back to another round of editing, only to find that the files uploaded to publishers do not translate into a precise copy of what’s on my computer, so another round or two to make the reading experience the best it can be.

Uploading for eBook was a doddle by comparison.

I have published the book ‘wide’ under my own imprint ‘Norder Press’. Paperback versions should be available to order from all bookshops. The eBook version from all major distributers, Kobo, Nook etc. It is also available via Amazon.

The paperback version is £9.99 and the eBook £3.99 in the UK.

If you're in the UK and would like a signed copy of the paperback contact me and I’ll arrange to get one to you. Now, form an orderly queue, both of you.

It's a fascinating journey, this writing life. I learn something new every day.

Rik
